Next Step Beauty have partnered with Norfolk video company, Curveball Media to enhance the power of YouTube through dedicated online videos targeted towards people searching for information about the beauty industry. Next Step, who provide nail courses and beauty courses in locations throughout the UK offer practical based training and access to full demonstration videos through the companies student portal launched earlier in 2012.
Marco Barra, Head of Digital Marketing said – “Our industry is very visual, and as such YouTube is a great way for us to make our content accessible to a broader audience. Since the initial days of our relationship with Curveball Media we have noticed a continuous growth in the number of views, and more importantly to our bottom-line, an incremental increase on the amount of traffic this channel contributes to our website (+230%). As the relationship matures, we’re also starting to see some interesting creative insights which have helped us reduce our bounce rate (-30%) and we’re already mapping the path we’ll follow in the coming months to enhance this channel even further.”
Daniel Spencer, Director of Curveball Media added “Working with Next Step has allowed us to help them grow both their channel views and subscriptions on YouTube. We have also noticed an increase in views to their blog which includes videos. We plan to build on this and in the future we’d like to introduce guest vlogging to further drive views and exposure”
YouTube now has over 800 million unique visitors per month, was launched in 2005 and is now owned by Google. The platform has seen visitor number from mobile devices triple in the last year which is something Next Step Beauty plan to incorporate into their mobile student portal which has been designed specifically for mobile and tablet platforms.
